The library also includes significant resources on topics related to Christian pacifism, peacemaking, mediation and conflict resolution.
The collection is rounded out with a representative selection of titles in biblical studies, theology, Christian life and ethics, church and mission, spirituality, and church history.
Hours and Facilities
Regular opening hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors are welcome to use the library at other times, including Saturdays, by appointment.
Centre staff are happy to assist with orientation to the holdings or advice on special projects. However, we ask that such consultations be arranged in advance to ensure that the appropriate person is available at the time of your visit.
Study Days and Retreats
The Centre also offers a prayer hut in the garden which provides private space for reflection and reading. We welcome guests who wish to combine use of the prayer hut and the library in designing their own study-retreat days.
We welcome you to LMC for part of a day, all day or several days of personal retreat.
We offer a prayer hut in our garden which can be used in conjuction with our library or your own study materials. You are also welcome to join the LMC Staff for prayers at 12:50 p.m.
There is an labyrinth adjacent to the prayer hut for use with prayer.
To reserve a time and space in the Prayer hut and/or guest room, email hosts(at)menno.org.uk or call 0845 4500 214.

The LMC has two pleasant guest rooms for short-term guests. One room has a double bed, a sofa bed and a futon. The shower and toilet across the hall are shared with others on the third floor. The second guest room on the ground level has two single beds; again the shower and toilet are shared. We suggest a donation of £25-30 per night. Guests are welcome to have breakfast in our kitchen and we provide basics for breakfast: cereal, milk, bread, juice, coffee, tea. The LMC is a smoke-free environment.
Guests are welcome to use the large garden and library during their stay. Our prayer hut and chapel are available for use upon requst.
